• Identity & Contact Information: Full name, parent/guardian name, date of birth, gender, mobile number, WhatsApp number, email address, state, district, city, and postal address for study material dispatch and communication.
• Enrolment & Academic Records: Selected course/programme, Admission ID, Student ID, enrolment dates, learning progress, assessment submissions, and institutional completion records.
• Verification & KYC Documents: Passport-size photograph, government-issued identity proof, prior educational records (where voluntarily submitted for student file completion), and partner authorization documents.
• Payment & Transaction Data: Fee payment acknowledgements, Receipt IDs, payment dates, UTR/transaction reference numbers, and billing status. We do not store raw credit/debit card numbers or UPI PINs on our servers.
• Technical & Usage Data: IP address (hashed for security and rate-limiting), browser type, device information, and consent acceptance timestamps.

• Operating our online record verification services (Certificate Verification, Admission Status Check, and Payment Receipt Verification).
• Sending important operational notifications, assessment updates, and support communications via WhatsApp, SMS, email, or portal alerts.

4. Privacy Safeguards in Online Record Verification

To enable students, employers, and institutions to verify the authenticity of issued records while protecting student privacy, ATAL Institute uses a tiered verification mechanism:

• Certificate Verification: Requires the unique alphanumeric Verification ID printed on the certificate and displays only essential credential fields (Student Name, Programme Name, Duration, Issue Date, and Verification Status).
• Admission Status & Fee Receipt Verification: Requires both the unique Admission ID / Receipt ID and the last 4 digits of the student's registered mobile number so unauthorized third parties cannot browse personal fee or admission records.

5. Document Storage & Access Control

Uploaded student and partner documents (such as photographs, identity proofs, and payment screenshots) are stored in protected server directories with restricted access controls. Authorized Admission Partners are strictly bound by our Partner Agreement to use student data solely for legitimate admission processing and are prohibited from sharing, publishing, or misusing student records.

6. Cookies, Analytics & Third-Party Services

Our website uses essential session cookies to maintain secure login states across the Student Portal and Partner Portal, as well as analytics and communication integrations (such as WhatsApp support links, secure payment gateways, and Google Apps Script verification registries). Third-party payment gateways and communication platforms operate under their respective privacy policies.

7. Data Retention & Student Rights

Institutional admission, fee receipt, and certificate verification records are retained in our archival registry to ensure long-term online verification availability for learners. Students may review and update their profile details through the Student Portal or request corrections by contacting Student Support with valid identity and Admission ID proof.
